A new scheme of work aimed at KS3 Y7. This unit of work will be a Chronology of Monotheism. Starting with Genesis, moving through Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Each religion will cover Key religious figures, information on their holy book and a rite of passage/religious practice. The aim of this unit is to compliment our GCSE curriculum in which we study Christianity and Islam. The learning journey for the unit is included. The Bible: An introduction to the Bible, looking at the Old and New Testament in a video and gap filler. Students then look at the different ways the Bible can be interpretted- liberal and literal. They consider other sources of authority that may provide more guidance in the modern day (prayer, visiting church, listening to their conscience). Students then pretend to ring into This Morning to answer a phone in question regarding if the Bible is out of date.

A bundle of KS3 lessons that look at the nature of suffering, why we suffer and studying those who help people who are suffering. Excellent lessons and worksheets. Bundled together for a low price because they still use “level” language. Will take a matter of minutes to change this language. Theme E: Crime and Punishment: A lesson looking at the death penalty, concentrating on the case of Stanley “Tookie” Williams, who was responsible for the Crips gang. Students have to decide if he should be granted clemency because he is a reformed character.

Introductory lesson for Islam Practices, aimed at AQA spec Year 10. Areas covered: Why is worship important? Worship inside the Mosque Private worship Introduction to The Five Pillars and the Ten Obligatory Acts.

Islam Practices, aimed at AQA Spec (Year 10). The first lesson of the Five Pillars- The Shahadah. Looking at the Saudi Arabian flag for engagement. Exam question with model answer provided.

A lesson aimed at AQA Islam Practices (Y10). Looking at Ramadan and Sawm. Students create an information leaflet to give to non-muslims to support them during Ramadan. Discussion points focus on the image of Mo Salah “breaking” his fast during the Champions League Final. 5 mark exam question with model answer.

Islam Practices, aimed at AQA Spec (Year 10). The lesson can either be taught as a market place activity or students completing as you teach each section (preferred) there are plenty of video clips and students complete a 12 mark plan (or complete the question) at the end of the lesson. Will take 2 lessons to complete if all video clips are watched.

Theme E: Religion, Crime and Punishment: Types of Punishment- Corporal, community service, prison

A great unit of work that looks at religion and chocolate. It firstly starts with how chocolate was used in rituals during Mayan and Aztec ceremonies, followed by the Cadbury brothers who started chocolate shops due to their Quaker beliefs. Finishing with Fairtrade. Lessons are bundled together and sold for a low price as elements of the lessons refer to “levels” language for their differentiation- would take a matter of minutes to tweak. A really fun unit in the run up to Christmas or Easter, or for primary school students who may be studying Chocolate/Fairtrade as a topic area.
